The
house, which is our home for most of the year, is ideally
situated alongside the route verte a
touristic road which hugs the line of the Gironde estuary and benefits
from a superb uninterrupted view of the estuary.
The
region is also officially the second sunniest area in France, due to
its superb micro climate it is second only to the Cote d'Azur for
average number of hours of sunshine per year!!
Set in threequarters of an acre of landscaped and well maintained gardens complete with pond for
the resident frogs! We are sure that the gardens will add a lot of
enjoyment to your holiday with areas for play with a space for
badminton and of course a boules court
(boules are provided). There are also plenty of places
to relax and enjoy the marvellous views and naturally there is a
large barbecue
with a shady, tiled dining terrace.
The pool
we are sure will be one of the main reasons for choosing to take your
holiday here and we are certain you will not be disappointed. it was
installed in 2001 and of course is solely for your use during your stay
- no sharing and no overcrowding! The pool complies with the recent
stringent laws on pool safety. For most of the year the cover you
can see in the photograph on the right is in place and this enables
very rapid heating of the water after the winter period allowing
us to benefit from the pool ouselves from March. It
means for our guests that the water temperature
is unlikely to be below 26° from the start of
May. From the end of May the water temperature will be
28°+ and in July and August we normally remove the cover to
prevent the water becoming too warm. When the cover is in place you can
if you wish swim with
the cover down or you can open 1,2,3,4 or all 5 elements.
